Prashant Natarajan serves as Velatura’s inaugural Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, bringing over two decades of distinguished experience in AI, analytics, and machine learning to advance healthcare interoperability and data-driven solutions. In this role, he directs Velatura’s comprehensive AI strategy, overseeing the development and deployment of advanced AI-driven solutions that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and health equity across healthcare and public sectors.
Throughout his career, Natarajan has demonstrated exceptional leadership in scaling enterprise AI programs, generating more than $1 billion in growth and operational savings for clients. His expertise spans generative AI, multi-modal AI solutions, cloud data platforms, and advanced language and vision models, with particular focus on healthcare applications and governance.
Most recently, Natarajan served as Vice President of Healthcare Analytics at H2O.ai, where he developed innovative AI products for health and life sciences sectors and led customer-facing product management for Document AI solutions. His previous executive roles include Global Director of Data Science and Analytics at Unum Group, Principal of AI and Analytics at Deloitte Australia, and Portfolio Director at Oracle Health Sciences, where he oversaw Oracle’s healthcare foundation and interoperability products.
A recognized thought leader in healthcare AI, Natarajan recently testified before the U.S. House of Representatives on generative AI applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He serves as a Distinguished Fellow at Health Innovation Alliance and as an Industry Advisor on Data Science and generative AI at the University of California, San Francisco. Natarajan is also a founding member of the Pistoia Alliance Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence and contributes to HIMSS’ AI regulatory frameworks.
He holds advanced credentials from Stanford University, Auburn University, and Manipal Institute of Technology, and has authored multiple bestselling books on healthcare AI and big data, including “Demystifying AI for the Enterprise” and “Demystifying Big Data and Machine Learning for Healthcare.”
