Rich Fish | Chief Operating Officer

 

Rich Fish serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Velatura Public Benefit Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital transformation initiatives. Beyond technical expertise, Rich is recognized for his collaborative leadership, fostering a cross-functional environment for successful technology initiatives. He oversees all agile software engineering resources and is at the helm of Velatura’s migration to a next generation cloud-native, FHIR-based integrated technology platform.

A seasoned security and compliance professional, Fish brings nearly two decades of experience in cybersecurity to the organization. Under his vision and leadership, Velatura supports organizations in their mission to interoperate and streamline the sharing of pertinent electronic information through shared infrastructure, providing new opportunities to drive growth, improve healthcare quality, reduce disparities and increase care effectiveness.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Fish is a member of the NH-ISAC Global, non-profit, member-driven organization offering healthcare stakeholders a trusted community and forum for coordinating, collaborating and sharing vital physical and cyber threat intelligence and best practices, as well as InfraGard, a Federal (FBI) and private sector partnership and information sharing and the Michigan Healthcare Cybersecurity Council, Inc (MIHCC) – a public-private partnership in the State of Michigan and the healthcare industry supporting the citizens, patients, workforce and students of Michigan. MIHCC seeks to protect the critical healthcare infrastructure and institutions of Michigan by providing relevant knowledge, meaningful relationships, and information security services to the partnering individuals, agencies, organizations, and vendors.

Fish is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served as a Quality Assurance Auditor and Collateral Duty Inspector, Corporal E-4. He holds a Bachelor’s of Information Technology from Baker College.
